Deary me..

Well it has been a long time since Ive properly posted. Sorry! But it has been a pretty busy week or so. lots of things happening and lots of work for deadlines and such. Instead of the usual ramble, ill break it up with pictures. Always works best.

Plenty of 9 hour days at college and late nights needed serious energy boosts. The crazy canteen lady wasnt kidding when she called it sugared stodge. was really nice though..

Always best to take a break from work so I jumped on a train to see sara in leeds :) and look at some halls of residence. Still wondering where they plan on spending the £95 a week its going to cost me.. but theres not much choice in the matter.

Round the corner was a super swanky dentist! Chandeliers and everything inside. Seems a much nicer experience than the one I go to.

We got our spaces for the show! yaay! look how big it is! and to think its all for a magazine. Put I have some tricks up my sleives to fill it, you wait and see.
Quick trip to B&Q for some prices on materials for the show, what is he using chippings for? You'll have to wait and see.

Back to college after a day off to lug the work around, im kinda getting fed up of it now.. especially when the lift decides to break at college. I swear the air on G floor is thinner.


My magazine! only in a rough draft but more or less done, it just needs a few more bits of text and tweaks and its finally done. Off to the printers pretty soon hopefully.

Another sneak look at part of my final show, but again unless ive told you in person you'll have to wait and see. Im really looking forward to it.

On my trip to leeds I bought a copy of Computer arts from borders, and pretty much havent put it down since. Its so good! definitely consider a subscription to it in the future.. Thats all for now. Hopefully have some progress with the show in the next few days x

The second of the season..

BBQs! got to love them.. went to my parents which is always good, and ate too much as always. good times. Lots of cycling today going to and from work and my parents which is amazing in this weather. I do recommend it. Its fun until..

You get a massive puncture :( Not too fun walking 4 miles home pushing your bike. I wasnt fussed anyway because I had too much to drink.. (dont laugh) Although on the way home I did see a cool Anchor advert billboard. Unfortunately it was too dark and far away for a good picture so I found something similar on the net which is just as good. I really like the simple build up of layers for the grass and the typography. The website is really good too, if you apprechiate good web design.. http://www.thefreerangebutter.co.uk/

Creative flow

Just watching the Kids In Glass Houses video on youtube, because I cant be bothered to buy the full track and theres a room the camera passes with 'give me what I want' in large lettering on the walls.. I have a slight obsession with tape in my sketchbooks, I wonder if I could do something with tape as a medium on walls? I wonder how it would look. no knifes just ripping and shaping. Droplet!

Yay! I got mine today, anna brought it in. Its so cool. Maybe this is the beginning of more vinyl toys? I put some pictures below. Today at college was ok, pretty relaxed with only a few people in which is good. In someways people work better. I learnt InDesign too towards my magazine, hopefully get somewhere with it now and make it look really professional.

The temperature in the car the other day on the way to sherwood pines for photo shooting. Insane! Can't wait until its always like this in the summer.

Cycling to lakeside arts centre for the cycle exhibition. Such nice weather. Can you believe there was only space for 2 bikes to be locked up? joke.

Droplet! yay! If I had the choice I would of had the green and yellow one, but im happy with mine :) might see what else I can find for a good price.

Its current home, sat on the TV while I play skate on the 360. so cool.

I guess its progress, and I did get to go which is becoming one of my favourite places to go, sherwood pines. Went for another ride with dad to get some pictures for the sherwood pines article in my magazine, I got a couple of good 'uns ill probably use in a montage and a good action shot but apart from that. Weather was amazing again today, so I had lots of time outside. Tomorrow im going to an exhibiton I was suggested by Sarah (college tutor) to go to about the history of Raleigh which'll tie nicely with the nostalgia pages. Ill try and get some pictures and post them tomorrow. Here's the ones I took today.





As you can tell I quite like simple stuff, but sometimes that works best.. I did load more but I forgot to rotate them. Ne'mind.

Night and day.

Yesterday I had the bike I borrowed from work to take some pictures of it, for my magazine.. I got some good shots (shown below) because of regulations at work I have to take it back today instead of tomorrow.. which is mkind of annoying, and probably wont mean ill be able to have it at the show.. I need to sort a new plan. Anyway! the pictures came out good, day time shutter was 200 and nighttime was 4'' with flash, which came out with some interesting results.

I think they came out quite well, I took about the same amount for both so I can use either.. Ill get some printed out and have a look from there.

On a high.

Today has been sooo good! Today at home went well, got lots done for my FMP and made a few decisions, tunes playing and the window wide open to let the sun and warmth in.. The weather was so good I cycled to work, ended up being 40 minutes early because I just couldnt wait to get outside and cycle. I hope the weather is like this on tuesday for sherwood pines. Andrew rang, to say he's bought day early tickets for leeds festival. YES! I was worried we'd never get them.. 5 days of funnnn. Cycling home from work, it was well good. started to rain, but the good kind because it was still really warm in the evening (And I got home super quick) Came up to check my emails and found one from UCAS. To tell me ive got an UNCONDITIONAL OFFER for Leeds college of Art + Design!!! yessss! How happy am I? just what I wanted.. So happy.

On a designy note, not much to show you from my work of the day.. although its the opening evening of Droplet, the vinyl toy of Gavin Strange which Anna has gone to, and shes bought me one :D woo hoo! I best find the money somewhere for it..

Bam, bam.

what a day. another 9 hour day at college to get work done, but i think ive turned a corner. getting organised of what I need to do which is awesome, just got to get on with it really. Out cycling and photoshooting (hopefully) with dad on tuesday afternoon for the magazine, pictures will hopefully come back sweet, but we will see. No doubt ill add some on my blog for you to check out. Home from college and pretty much carried on with it. but now ive run out of steam, so I think skate is in order! and a icy chilled beer. mm mmm!
